Menu Plan - Week of August 17

This week's menu plan is a boring one.

A is leaving to go back to his mother's house.  We did lots of entertaining at the end of the week and over the weekend so will be subsisting on leftovers for most of the week.  But it will clean out the fridge and freezer!

Sunday:  Pool Party at my Aunt and Uncle's house

Monday:  Forage in the Fridge

Tuesday:  Forage in the Fridge

Wednesday:  Forage in the Fridge

Thursday:  BBQ Chicken, salad, quinoa/rice medley

Friday:  Pork Milanese, brown rice, salad

Saturday:  Forage in the Fridge

Menu Plan for the Week of 8/10

Time for this week's menu plan.  We have been slacking on this over the summer but A is with us this week so we definitely have to make a plan since we are pretty busy with activities and family coming over.

Sunday:  This one is A's pick so we are having Surf and Turf - steak and crab legs, baked potato, cole slaw, corn on the cob with al fresco dining on the deck.

Monday:  Parmesan Sage Pork Chops, salad, new potatoes

Tuesday:  Forage in the Fridge (D and A will be out of town) so this pretty much means I will eating microwave popcorn, Diet Coke and string cheese for dinner.  :)

Wednesday:  Salsa Verde Chicken Enchiladas, salad, Spanish rice

Thursday:  Ground turkey Stuffed shells (modified from this recipe), salad

Friday:  Forage in the Fridge (aka leftover night)

Saturday:  Burgers and brats.  D has a great cheese stuffed burger recipe.

I am also planning on making some blueberry coffee cake and maybe some blueberry ice cream since we went blueberry picking yesterday.

There is no To Do list and no menu plan post today since we are up in Northern Michigan for the weekend with family. Boating, relaxing, laughing, eating too much and basically hanging out are on the agenda.

Watch our Instragram feed for photos from our weekend away.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Weekend To Dos 7/7-8 & Menu Plan 7/8-13

D's kids are here for their summer visit so we don't have many house projects planned but instead plan to to some serious hanging out.  Well, at least indoor in the basement hanging out since since 100+ heat isn't conducive to outdoor activities.

That being said, we still have a few things on the list.
1.  Grocery/Laundry/Cleaning
2.  Watering garden, flowers and lawn
3.  Farmers Market
4.  Finish spreading bark (but only if it isn't already over 80 degrees at 7 am like the past week)
5.  Blog posts and photos
6. Plant veggie seeds
7.  Finish fence post flower project

Of course, we also will be renting some movies, hanging out with the grandparents and playing with Willow.  I know D wants to spend some time alone with the kids, so I figure I will get my projects done during those times.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is a cooking outdoors kind of week.  D loves it, the kids love it, Willow love to go in and out constantly with D and the kids, I love the lack of dishes. Win, win, win, win!

Plus, having the grill fired up is the prefect excuse for making s'mores. We haven't done that yet this summer and it is time!

Sunday:  Salmon with Mornay Sauce
Monday:  Crockpot Roast Chicken
Tuesday:  BBQ ribs
Wednesday:  Grilled Cheese (D has class)
Thursday:  Carne Asada
Friday:  Out of Town
Saturday: Out of Town

Weekend To Dos 6/23-24 & Menu Plan 6/24-6/30

Whoops! I thought I had set this to post yesterday morning but, well, apparently not!

It is definitely summer! The weekend activities have started up and this weekend is no exception.

To Dos
  1. Neighbor's High School Graduation Open House
  2. Family Pool Party
  3. Cleaning, Grocery, Laundry
  4. Finish spreading bark in the garden
  5. Doggie Day Spa for Willow
  6. Blog posts and photos
  7. Finish steps in the side yard
  8. Plant veggie seeds
  9. Finish fence post flower project

This week's menu plan is almost a direct copy of last week's. Why? Because it was so hot here last week, neither D or I felt like cooking anything. We don't have central air and the cool air from the window units in the other rooms just don't cool off the kitchen. So we ate salads or went out.

But it is going to be much cooler this week and, now, the menu plan is already done. Yay!

Sunday:  Steaks with Spinach Strawberry Salad
Monday:  Baked pork chops with Swiss chard
Tuesday:  FITF
Wednesday:  BBQ chicken on the grill
Thursday:  Salmon on a large dinner salad
Friday:  FITF
Saturday:  Grilled cheese sandwiches, chips and a salad

Weekend To Dos 6/9-10 & Menu Plan 6/10-16

The To Do list this time is a short one since my bestest friend B is coming for a visit this weekend!  Wahoo!  There will be lots of laughing, drinking of wine, eating of snacks and general hanging out and being silly.
  1. Farmer's Market
  2. Strawberry Picking (the u-pick places are finally open)
  3. Grocery, Laundry, Cleaning
  4. Finish Fence Slat hanging garden
  5. Get hanging baskets and flowers
  6. Plant flowers in pots
  7. Willow to the dog park
That's it!

I have already written all most of the posts for the coming week so this should be a fun and relaxing weekend hanging out with B and D and Willow.  I will definitely need all this rest since we have big plans outside for next weekend that involves quite a bit of manual labor.

This is an easy menu plan week.  D will be busy with work and school so things need to be quick and easy.

Sunday:  Crockpot BBQ chicken on buns with fruit salad and cole slaw
Monday:  Stovetop Taco Pasta
Tuesday:  FITF
Wednesday:  Orange chicken with steamed veggies and rice
Thursday:  Chipotle Burritos
Friday:  FITF
Saturday:  Grilled cheese sandwiches, chips and a salad

Weekend To Dos 6/2-3 & Menu Plan 6/3-9

Our To Do list this week is easy.  It is everything that didn't get done last weekend.  As you may have seen in my Kitchen Update Gone Awry post, our mini kitchen update took longer than we thought it would (I know, put on your shocked face) so we didn't get everything done.  Add that to the fact that the weather here has been dreadful, cold and rainy, most of the week so we weren't able to get caught up.  Oh well, such is the nature of the To Do list, right?
  1. Work on touching up paint on walls
  2. Farmer's Market
  3. Purchase flowers and hanging baskets
  4. Pot up flowers
  5. Grocery, Cleaning, Laundry, Bank
  6. Do test area by oven on the counter top paint
  7. Fire up the grill
  8. Order more bark (yeah, I can't believe we need more either, but we didn't have enough left over to finish in the garden.)
  9. Patio furniture from basement
  10. Apply teak oil to the Adirondack chairs
  11. Finish Fence Post Planter
  12. Family Dinner
  13. Blog posts - photos and write ups

Last week was a total fail on our following our menu plan.  We ended up working late or getting invited out to dinner several times.  Then on Friday, some good stuff happened at D's work so we went out to celebrate.  This means that basically everything is back on the list for this week.

Sunday:  Family Dinner (brats on the grill)
Monday:  FITF
Tuesday:  Salmon Dinner Salad
Wednesday:  BBQ chicken
Thursday:  Steaks
Friday:  FITF
Saturday:  Orange Chicken

Weekend To Dos 5/26-28 & Menu Plan 5/27-6/1

While it is the holiday weekend, all that means in our house is that there is more time to work on our projects.

We have plans to start the mini-update in the kitchen this weekend so there are new lights, a new faucet and a backsplash in our near future. Yay!! I have already gotten a jump on the painting so we just need to finish some touch ups before moving onto the other pieces.

So here is our weekend To Do list:
  1. Clear counters and move stuff to dining room or basement
  2. Clean walls under the cabinets so they can dry before installation of tile
  3. Work on touching up paint on walls
  4. Install our window AC units
  5. Farmer's Market
  6. Lowe's and/or HD to buy materials (if I don't get there on Friday night) & flowers for planters & pots
  7. Dry fit on the tile
  8. Install tile
  9. Clean up grout joints
  10. Grout tile and clean up
  11. Install lights
  12. Install faucet
  13. Grocery, Cleaning, Laundry, Bank
  14. Do test area by oven on the counter top paint
  15. Fire up the grill
  16. Order more bark (yeah, I can't believe we need more either, but we didn't have enough left over to finish in the garden.)
  17. Plant flowers
  18. Patio furniture from basement
  19. Apply teak oil to the Adirondack chairs
  20. Blog posts - photos and write ups
OK, now that I have it all written down, I am wondering if we will get to do any relaxing this weekend!

Sunday:  FITF
Monday:  Brats
Tuesday:  Salmon Dinner Salad
Wednesday:  BBQ chicken
Thursday:  Steaks
Friday:  FITF
Saturday:  Orange Chicken

Weekend To Dos 5/12-13 & Menu Plan 5/13-19

My To Do list is being posted very late today.  The weather has been cruddy all day and I have been feeling a bit under the weather.  So my plans have been curtailed immensely. I am feeling better now so tomorrow should be a good day

  1. Nap
  2. Laundry, Grocery, Cleaning
  3. Help D with his Mother's Day present (it's pretty darn cute and the project will be posted tomorrow)
  4. Take photos for next week's blog posts
  5. Write up next week's blog posts
  6. Schedule tweets for week
  7. Farmer's Market
  8. Mother's Day dinner with my Mother-in-Law.  My mum is out of town and we will be celebrating with her later.
  9. Finish weed removal/ground prep of the garden paths for bark
  10. Weed Blueberry bed
  11. Get weed blocker and lawn staples to prep garden paths for bark
  12. Spreading bark in garden

We did pretty well this past week with following the menu plan.  The order of the meals switched up a bit, mainly because we forgot to take things out of the freezer. We ended up having a different kind of brat on "Brat Night" and it turns out I had a total brain fart when I was drawing up the menu plan.  I forgot we had tickets to the symphony on Friday night so it ended up being dinner and a show night with dinner at our favorite sushi place. (mmmm, sushi!)

Sunday:  Seasoned steaks, fresh asparagus, brown rice, salad, melon and something tasty for dessert
Monday: FITF
Tuesday:  Gruyere and roasted onion pasta (from the farmer's market) with a Sicilian seasoned white sauce and shredded chicken, salad and garlic bread
Wednesday:  Chipotle burritos (since we didn't end up getting any last week)
Thursday:  Chicken Sate with peanut sauce (moved from last week)
Friday: Nothing planned.  D is going to a birthday party for a friend and I will be taking a upholstery class.
Saturday: FITF. I will be at my upholstery class all day and D is working.

Weekend To Dos 5/5-6 & Menu Plan 5/6-12

Another busy weekend around here, made even busier because tomorrow we have our Family Dinner so much of the day will be spent hanging out with family.  I guess we better get cracking since it is already 9:30 am here.
  1. Willow to the dog park
  2.  Re-caulk roof flashing around fireplace
  3. Get fabric for upholstery class (more on this coming in a later post)
  4. Michael's (D has plans to make his Mom a Mother's Day gift)
  5. Cleaning, Grocery, Laundry
  6. Finish up horse bookends, shadowbox, vertical garden
  7. Take photos of everything
  8. Write up food posts
  9. Take pics of Willow
  10. Mow yard (moved until the grass dries out.)
  11. Work on garden (it rained all weekend. Boo!)
  12. Family Dinner

This is another Family Dinner weekend so tomorrow we will be having a belated Cinco de Mayo dinner.  Plus D is on break before he starts up his summer classes so will be home every night.  That will be a bit of a change since I am used to having the house to myself a couple of nights a week.

Sunday:  Salsa Verde Enchiladas, Corn Salad, Spanish Rice and dessert TBD
Monday:  Smokey Seasoned Steaks
Tuesday:  Chicken Chorizo Brats
Wednesday:  FITF*
Thursday:  Salomon Ceasar Salad
Friday:  Chipotle Burritos or FITF (depends on how many leftovers we have left)
Saturday:  Chicken Sate with Peanut Sauce

Weekend To Dos 4/21-22 & Menu Plan 4/ 22-28

Why does it seem like as the weather gets warmer there are more things to add to the To Do list? Maybe because it is true?  In addition to all the inside stuff, you get to add the outside stuff.  With our light winter and early spring, I feel like we got "cheated" out of more weekends that could have been spent tackling our inside projects.  I guess that is just the way it works sometimes.

Onto our To Do list for this weekend.  It is pretty light on items since we still have a bunch of this stuff to spread.

We managed to get about half of it spread last weekend and during the week, while dodging rain storms, but still have a ton left to go. I have to say that I didn't take a photo of what is left of the pile since it makes me a little sad that there is still so much left after we have already done so much work.
  1. Finish spreading bark (we are almost done in the front yard. Yay!)
  2. Trim box woods
  3. Mow lawn
  4. Fill out and send CSA form
  5. Contact local farmers on pricing on a whole pig and a 1/2 cow
  6. Attend cousin's girlfriend's baby shower
  7. Laundry/cleaning/grocery
  8. Plant seedlings and seeds in garden
  9. Bring papers to Boy Scout paper drive
  10. Make dog bed cover for Willow

Sunday:  Beef Roast in the slow cooker (moved from last week. Since we had so many leftovers, we didn't make this.)
Monday:  Honey Mustard & Dill Salmon from Alderberry Hill. I saw this on a linky party and thought it looked so tasty.
Tuesday:  FITF*
Wednesday:  FITF
Thursday:  Balsamic-Rosemary Grilled Pork Chops
Friday:  Chipotle Burrito
Saturday:   FITF (D is going to visit a friend for the weekend)

Weekend To Dos 4/14-15 & Menu Plan 4/15-21

I had a laundry list of items to put on the To Do list this week.  But then I came home to this on Thursday evening.

Yup, that is a big hulking pile of shredded bark.  Eight cubic yards of it.  Needless to say, getting this stuff spread and off the driveway so I can park in the garage again is the only item on our To Do list.

OK, it won't really be the only item since we still need to clean, do laundry and get to the grocery store. And we need to finish cleaning out the garage so we can get to the yard tools and wheelbarrow we will need to start the spreading of the bark.  Man, it is going to be another busy weekend.

To Do List:
  1. Finish cleaning garage
  2. Finish Spring yard clean up
  3. Start spreading bark in front yard
  4. Laundry, Grocery, Cleaning
  5. Willow to dog park
  6. Willow "Doggy Day Spa" - bath, nail trimming, tooth brushing and ear cleaning
  7. Take photos for next week's blog posts
  8. Write up next week's blog posts
  9. Get weed blocker and lawn staples to prep garden paths for bark
  10. Clean the Fridge / Organize the Freezers
Additions
  1. Move green file cabinet to basement
I have a feeling that we won't get all the bark spread this weekend so there will probably be work in the evenings to get it finished up. What this means for the menu is that things have to be easy peasy and the slow cooker fits that bill perfectly! So it is all slow cooker all the time this week.

Sunday:  Takeout Pizza
Monday:  BBQ pork in the slow cooker
Tuesday:  FITF*
Wednesday:  FITF
Thursday:  Salsa verde chicken enchiladas (we cook the chicken and salsa verde in the slow cooker)
Friday:  Beef roast in the slow cooker
Saturday:  FITF

*Forage in the Fridge

What are your favorite slow cooker dishes?  I am always on the lookout for new ones and would love for you to share.

Weekend To Dos 4/7-8 & The Week's Menu Plan

If you have been following our Weekend To Do lists, you will notice one thing that is NOT on the list this week. That item that never ever seemed to get crossed off the list. Yes, the powder room trim is done!! It only took me time each evening this week to get finished but it is DONE! The trim is caulked and painted. Where is my big red marker to cross that baby off? Let me give a big wahoo for not having to put this on the list again for another week!

The best part is I don't need to answer yet again, "Dad, I am going to get to it," when he comes over for Easter dinner tomorrow.  That is worth a double wahoo!!

Having the powder room done frees me up to continue working on the living room mess, I mean madness. Did I say that? I really meant project. I am hoping to get finish the woodwork painting Saturday afternoon so it doesn't smell like paint during dinner on Sunday. Wish me luck!

With that hope, here is the rest of our To Do List.
  1. Willow to dog park
  2. Work on living room cabinets
  3. Grocery, Laundry, Cleaning (the weekend triumvirate)
  4. Deliver wood file cabinet to Dad
  5. Move green cabinet to the basement
  6. Finish organizing crafty corner or rather switch stuff around. Turns out the desk and the shelved need to swap places.
  7. Write up blog post for Easter egg holder
  8. Take photos of Easter egg holder
  9. Plant indoor seeds
  10. Easter Dinner
  11. Move seeds started inside to shady protected spot outside
Additions:
  1. Fix the sun tunnel in the attic
  2. Mow the lawn
A Forage in the Fridge heavy week since I know we are making make waaaay too much food for the Easter dinner.

Sunday: Easter dinner: Ham, rolls, green bean casserole, cheesy potatoes, sweet potatoes, dilled carrots, homemade applesauce, blueberry cake, and more
Monday: FITF*
Tuesday: FITF
Wednesday: FITF
Thursday: Stir-Fried Honey-Ginger Chicken with Peppers
Friday: BBQ Salmon
Saturday: Pork Milanese with side salad though this one may change to sandwiches or pizza if we are totally sick of pork after all that ham.

Weekend To Do 3/30-4/1 & The Week's Menu Plan [Double Whammy Post]

I feel like we should just put one thing on our To Do list this weekend. Finish painting the trim in the powder room.  I feel like I need to have a Scarlett O'Hara moment "As God is my witness, not another weekend will go by without the project getting completed!" So it is item #1 on my list.
  1. Work on painting and caulking trim in powder room (Yay! progress!)
  2. Willow to dog park
  3. "Doggie Day Spa" for Willow (bath, ear cleaning, flea & tick stuff application)
  4. Work on living room cabinets
  5. Grocery, Laundry, Cleaning (the weekend triumvirate)
  6. Figure out which (or both) file cabinet my Dad wants
  7. Continue work on stripping paint off fireplace mantle
  8. Finish organizing crafty corner
  9. Write up blog post for Easter egg holder
  10. Take photos of Easter egg holder
  11. Plant indoor seeds for tomatoes, tomatillos and peppers
Additions
  1. Finish cutting up and bundling carpet in new workout area
  2. Move workout equipment to new workout area
  3. Move boxes to storage area in basement
  4. Unpack the Russian Legends plates my mom gave us and place in the dining room on the plate rail
It will be interesting to see how well we do this weekend. Wish us luck on item #1. I may just throw a party for one if I get it done.

This week's menu plan is all about quick and easy.  It is going to be a busy week since we are hosting Easter Dinner at our house for family. That means we need to do massive cleaning, lots of shopping and basically make the house spotless and organized for the dinner.  Not so easy when you currently have a compressor in the living room. :-)

Sunday: Pork Milanese with side salad
Monday: Crockpot Bacon and Cheese Chicken
Tuesday: FITF*
Wednesday: FITF
Thursday: Homemade Meatballs and Marinara Sauce
Friday: Parmesan coated salmon
Saturday: Chipotle Burritos

Weekend To Dos 3/24-25 & the Menu Plan 3/25-31 [Double Whammy]

Welcome to the what I am going to call the "Double Whammy" post.  I usually post our weekend To Dos and our weekly Menu Plan separately but I decided that they should be combined into single post since it all falls under the "whole making a plan" arena. :-)

It is supposed to be a pretty dreary weekend with rain expected on and off until Sunday afternoon. While it is a bit of a bummer since it has been gorgeous most of the week, it also means I don't need to put any outdoor activities on my list! Even if we so need to do the big Spring clean up.
  1. Pick up file cabinets from work first thing Saturday morning
  2. Grocery, Laundry, Cleaning (the weekend triumvirate)
  3. Finish project for blog post
  4. Take pics for blog posts
  5. Work on living room cabinets
  6. Work on painting and caulking trim in powder room (I just can't manage to get this one done. It has been on the list for weeks)
  7. Willow to dog park
  8. "Doggie Day Spa" for Willow (bath, nail clipping, ear cleaning, flea & tick stuff application)
  9. Plant next round of seeds indoors Planted seed outside instead.
  10. Whatever else I get sidetracked on :-)
Linking up with My Happy Home and A Life in Progress for their Weekend Planning Blog Hop.

Make a list of your weekend To Dos and join us!

My plan to menu plan around D's school schedule has been a total flop.  So I am going back to the more traditional menu plan running with the week.  Hopefully this will help us keep on track, especially as the weather gets warmer and our schedules get crazier.

Sunday:  Salsa Verde Chicken in the Crockpot served over brown rice
Monday:  Wasabi Crusted Salmon with orzo and salad
Tuesday:  FITF*
Wednesday:  FITF
Thursday:  Chipotle Burritos
Friday:  Pork Milanese with side salad
Saturday:  Steaks with mashed potatoes and steamed veggies or maybe FITF all depends on what's on the weekend plan

*Forage in the Fridge

Hope you all have a great and productive weekend!

Menu Plan: 3/15-21

I have decided that D and I never eat as much as I think we will when I am doing my weekly menu plan. We always seem to have waaaaaay more leftovers than I anticipate so we end up not making all the stuff planned. That and we have started eating a lot of soup and one big pot of homemade soup lasts a while. So I am going to cut back on how many main dishes we plan each week.
Plus, at the end of last week I came down with a horrible cold and cough. Being sick doesn't make you want to eat - it makes you want to snuggle with the dog. Petting her soft ears just seems to make everything better!

That being said, here is this week's plan. Notice that basically every item was planned for last weekend.

Thursday: Crockpot Pot Roast with potatoes and carrots (a K creation)

Friday: FITF*

Saturday: Beef barley veggie soup made with the leftover roast (a D creation)

Sunday: Wasabi Crusted Salmon with orzo and salad ()

Monday: FITF

Tuesday: FITF

Wednesday: FITF

Menu Plan: 3/8-14

Wow! We actually followed the menu plan for last week.  Yes, I get the irony of saying we followed the plan we had set out but after the prior week's "forgetting to take main part of our dinner out of the freezer" fiasco, I have learned having a plan doesn't mean things can't still take a 90 degree turn putting you in the ditch.

Now that we are on a roll, here is the menu plan for the next 7 days.
  • Thursday:  Cheesy ham & potato casserole with Caesar salad
  • Friday:   Crockpot Pot Roast  with potatoes and carrots
  • Saturday:  Soup Day!
  • Sunday:  FITF
  • Monday:  Wasabi crusted Salmon with brown rice and steamed veggies
  • Tuesday:  FITF
  • Wednesday:  FITF
What's on your dinner menu this weekend?  Anything tasty?

Menu Plan: 3/1-7

This post should be called Whoops and Yay!

First the whoops!  "The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry," is a perfect quote for last week. I had a menu plan and I had recipes, printed out and ready to go.  What I didn't have was a reminder in my calendar to take important ingredients like the chicken and the pork roast out of the freezer. Whoops! So we swapped out the planned dinners of last week for whatever we could throw together. Yeah, that defeats the purpose of the menu plan so we are going to try to do better about the actual implementation of the meals, like taking big frozen stuff out a couple of days in advance.

Now for the Yay!  This weekend is the first of our "Monthly Family Dinners." After the success of the birthday dinner last month, D and I decided that we would host a family dinner on the first Sunday of the month at 1:30 pm. The invite list is the same every month - my parents, my brother, my great-aunt, D's mom and a close family friend who is like family - and whoever can make it can make it. Meals will be family style so we don't need to have an exact number.

Thursday: Crockpot Rotisserie-Style Chicken

Friday: FITF*

Saturday: Out to dinner

Sunday: Family Dinner Day! Costco Lasagna, home baked Italian bread, Caesar salad, blueberry crumble

Monday: D's fabulous marinated steak

Tuesday: FITF

Wednesday: FITF

The only thing I need to remember to take out of the freezer is the steaks. Hopefully I won't muck that up. :-)

Menu Plan: 2/16-22

This week we are going to try to continue to make a dent in our 1/2 pig and 1/4 steer we ordered from a local farmer last summer.

We had become concerned about news reports related to our food supply (e coli in meats, salmonella in veggies, etc.) so we decided to get much more deliberate in choosing where we got our foods.  So we joined a CSA, buy many of our fruits and veggies from the farmers market and found a local farmer to supply us with our beef and pork.

If you are in West Michigan, I can recommend a couple of sources.  Interested in beef and pork that is mouth-wateringly good and priced very reasonably? I highly recommend contacting The Adela Rose Farm.  They also have chicken, though we haven't gotten any from them yet.  Their meats are processed at Byron Center Meats, a locally owned company with a great reputation.

Looking for a CSA?  Melody Bee Farms is again offering farm shares in 2012. They also have honey, beef, pork and chickens, though we haven't purchased any of these products from them yet.

Thursday:  Pork Milanese with side salad
Friday:  Out for dinner then going to this. I am so excited!
Saturday:  Grilled cheese sandwiches with bacon
Sunday:  Steaks with Hubs' famous "secret" marinade
Monday:  Orzo with sausage and peppers
Tuesday:  FITF (forage in the frige)
Wednesday:  FITF

What's on your menu plan this week? Any favorites that you want to share?

Menu Plan for February 9 to 15

I plan our weekly menu differently than most folks in that our menu week actually begins mid-week.  Hubs has class on Tuesday and Wednesday nights so I use Thursday as the "beginning" of my week when it comes to my menu planning.

Thursday:  Crockpot Bacon and Cheese Chicken
Friday:  Chipotle Burritos
Saturday:  Slow Cooker Barbacoa Beef
Make the Strawberry Cake and Frosting
Sunday: Homemade meatballs with canned homemade marinara sauce served over rigatoni, side salad and garlic bread. Strawberry cake for dessert (we are celebrating Hubs' and my mom's birthday)
Monday:  Crockpot BBQ Pork
Tuesday: FITF (Forage in the Fridge)
Wednesday: FITF
